Disclaimer: This thread is not about my opinion about these games but about your opinions on the games you bought. Everyone has different standards.

Since apparently it's impossible to like a game and at the same time criticize it for its shortcomings I'm asking if there are any brave souls out there who buy games even though the presentation is not up to their standards.

I'm not talking about pretending that they don't matter or pretending they're actually great. I'm talking about actively recognizing that the game you want to play has shortcomings but you are still going to buy.

I'll start:

Mario Kart 8: Shit graphics -> Day 1 Wii U bundle

Bayonetta 2: Shit graphics -> preordered

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Shit graphics -> preordered

Lightning Returns: Really shit graphics and unbearable framerate issues -> preordered from both Japan and Germany

Far Cry 4: Most likely heavy framerate issues on PC -> Day 1

AC Unity: Most likely framerate issues on PS4 -> preordered

Those are the most recent examples I can think of.

You know, I was thinking in games like Deadly Premonition.

Most of those games you've mentioned...bad graphics? Really?

-_-
Your definition of bad graphics made me throw up.

I think the key word here is standards. For some they may be ok but the games I mentioned are comfortably below my standards.

This thread is not about what games I think look shit but games that you don't like and still bought. To each their own.

Well, you could rephrase the title thread to make it more clear!

You're definition of shit graphics is... mind-blowing.

But going with your standards, I'll say Saints Row IV, bought during the recent Steam Sales.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I think graphics never stopped me from a purchase so that pretty much every game is a theoretical purchase for me regardless of graphics. Right now I play State of Decay which I bought a week ago on PC. Looks pretty ugly

But I still love when games have great graphics.

Changed it for you. But I still think that "bad" is already a highly subjective word and always only relates to one's personal opinion.

I love you more now :P

Once this drops in EU I will be all over it. I'm sure by today's standards this game looks awful 😁
