It was also doing it earlier today out of nowhere while I was playing a game. I thought it might be overheating, but that wasn't it. Google didn't turn up any useful answers.

I did a little more sleuthing on the interwebs..
Do you have remote play enabled? Sometimes it will pick up some wacky signals and beep.
Do you have a Comcast cable box or DVR? They sometimes beep and it sounds almost exactly the same as the PS3.
And stupid but make sure it isn't a smoke detector with a low battery..
If it isn't one of those, then I donno. As long as the consoles working fine, it probably wont be an issue. If it's annoying, I believe you can turn the beep sound off in the system settings.
It's telling you it loves you..
