Forums - Gaming - Do you believe the Xbox one 71K this week?

Well,

Yes 129 36.13%

No 228 63.87%

Total:357

Last week included five? whole days where the price had been dropped, and yet the numbers went up this week... It was heavilty advertised and you could pre-order the kinectless version everywhere so it doesn't make much sense to me. I know it's to early for sales to drop off after a price cut but it's the increase that seems strange. Over half the consoles sold (43k) were in the USA so i'm gonna wait for the NPD numbers, I think 71K is certainly beliveable but the past overtracking of XBO makes me wary. What do you think?

Buying order: Switch, better pc

No. It would be the first time, if we don't have it overtracked.

As someone stated in the other thread, price drops have bigger effects in the 2nd week in US and Europe.

I can't remember last time that XOne was not overtracked by VGC. I expect it to be the same this week, and in many many weeks following this one. Whether it's by 5 or 55% is debatable, but we have seen it overtracked by a 100% on occasion.
These numbers will be adjusted sometime in the future when only a few enthusiasts will notice.
I've learned not to even take notice, or care for these weekly updates, they are a fun forum posting exercise, but are mostly irrelevant.
It's less stressful to just wait for monthly NPD numbers.

It is over tracked by about 71k.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

I take all the numbers with a grain of salt until adjustments are made.

I'll just presume the X1 is selling better now than before the new SKU.

Exactly this.

When has xbox not been overtracked lol. NPD isn't too far away now, we'll see then.

X1's US numbers for May are 37% higher than NPD despite the "adjustments" and since VGC guesses numbers through past trends, X1 is definitely overtracked.

Nope, after what appened in april and march, i always wait for npd. Btw, i also think ethomaz theory that amazon charts reflect sales in us is true. And xbone has never passed the 40 in top 100, while ps4 was always in top 10 and for a long time even destiny bundle was over xbone. So no, i don't believe thesr numbers until npd. And we all know they will be adjusted after npd.
