Forums - Gaming - how to sell a console a week to sell well?

I'll assume that's monthly and I'll have to say no, those are terrible sales for each month.

That is weekly and even like that for some months it's poor weekly sale... because it gives you 4.5M per year, that is good just if we want to say WiiU is bad, but not abysmal.

One day, i I thought that one console for sell well had to sell 100,000 on week... but after, i have capit that not all week is equal.

So, i think that one console for sell good must sell:

Gen-Feb-Mar: 70,000+

Apr-May-June: 50,000+

July-Augost: 40,000+

September: again 70,000+

October: 80,000+

November: 100,000+

Black Friday: 200,000+

December: depends, but always more of 300,000

And for you?

4.5M for a year?? That is low... a good selling console is around 10M a year. With 5M in the first 9 months (average 128k per week) and 5M for the last 3 months (385k per week average). And in BF/Some weeks in December sell between 800k-1M.

10,000,000 in one year is not a good sales, is a succes IMHO.

This generation all console were a succes, with all more of 80M+.

But in this generation, 4.5-5M on year is not good, but not bad, for me is minimum.

Oh thanks, yeah even weekly that's still horrible.

lol... you're prediction of 170 mil for the PS4... lol. The 3DS is selling better than it is and it is 3 and a half years old.

I report you.

What ever makes you feel manly :)

To reach 100m consoles sold lifetime(let's say within 10 years) you need to sell 10m consoles each year. Very simple math. If you sell 5m during the holidays, Nov-Jan usually in the west, you need to sell between 300-800k/month on average for the rest of the months.

EDIT: Sorry I see now that you said weekly.

So then it would be around 350-450k/weekly during Nov-Jan, and 75-200k/weekly during Feb-Oct.

EDIT2: I could add lifetime sales as well now.

I believe that 150m or more lifetime is a great achievement.
More than 100m consoles lifetime is a good achievement.
More than 50m consoles lifetime is OK.
Below 50m consoles lifetime is a failure.

Are those sales weekly? I guess sales like that every week is alright but not great.

Considering a normal span of gen (will remove sony tail sales that are great) a gen takes like 5y so if you on average sells 5M a year that isn't good because the most you would get considering growth, peak, decline and tail would be something along 30-40M it isn't good (but could be acceptable) but probably would stop between 20-25M that is bad.

10M a year is good to achieve something along 70M.

A great sales year is around 17-20M. Look for the yearly sales of gen 7 to confirm. A good december month shouldn't be bellow 500k weekly.

Now if you are talking about first year+holiday, 5M is week, 8M good, 10-12M great, 17M is fantastic.
