Forums - Gaming - Titanfall 2 Needs a Real Campaign on PS4

The game lacked content on the mp side, they should start with fixing that.

It was VERY clearly rushed, which I suspect is the true reason for the technical problems and lack of SP. For a $60 game, Cod: AW will offer far more value. TF2 must up their game a LOT to stand a chance. The mech combat, parkour and game style won't be unique any more, and it will face brutal competition instead of releasing with basically zero competition.

There is no guarantee of a second titanfall. The game didnt set the charts on fire, and it wouldnt have a massive sales difference if it were multi-cross plat(PS3/4 & X1/360). Keep in mind fair amount of Titanfall sales are sales based on there being no games to play(which happens with every new console launch). Companies like EA are looking for the next Call Of Duty, hell Activision is looking for the next call of duty. Its kind of like what has happened with World of Warcraft. Everyone dumped a ton of money into new MMOs trying to be the next WOW. Most games were for all purposes abandoned(free to play or killed entirely) within a year or so cause they realised they didnt have the next WOW. Titanfall wont be the next COD, in fact its looking like the next Medal of Honor. EA has Battlefield and Battlefront and its probably safer to ride that.

Actually, I think a second Titanfall is guaranteed.  True, the first one didn't light up the charts for long, but it did show promise.  EA also announced they have publishing rights for any further installments, so I think they are going to give it at least one more shot to prove its worth.

The game has to be well over 2 million on Xbox One counting digital sales. Around 1 million on 360, and who knows with PC. It seems as if people expected Titanfall to put up CoD numbers day one or something. Of course, EA has already said the game met their sales expectations, so idk why anyone would doubt a sequel is coming eventually. The only real hurdle would probably be whether or not Respawn wants to make it, not whether EA wants to publish it or not.

EA is making Mirror's Edge 2, which sold altogether just about what Titanfall has sold thus far on Xbox One alone. Idk why you'd say a PS4 release of the original would not have impacted sales greatly. The best selling PS4 game AFAIK is still a CoD title. Followed by Battlefield still? People love shooters. I would bet Killzone 6 is in there somewhere in the top games, too. 4-5 million in sales across the two next gen platforms would not be substantial?

People forget that CoD last gen did not start out the juggernaut it eventually became. CoD 2 was Xbox exclusive and Titanfall is already past what it sold lifetime on 360. If EA gave Medal of Honor a 2nd chance last gen, they'll sure as heck give Titanfall another go this gen. The first one was a good success for them and is still selling.
