Forums - Nintendo - Is Amiibo bad for Nintendo's relationship with Activision?

No Amibo is going to be used totally differently to skylanders or disney infinity. They will work with multiple games and only as assist chars here and there. The other two games their toys are like the core of the games and if kids still want those games they will buy them. Amiibo i more targeted at the Nintendo Geek who wants all Nintendo toys.

I think it is more possibilities. Activision can make amiibo figurines.

Sorry for my english.

Bye.

they might compliment each other. Building an ecosystem where the toy to life range is strong might be what activision needs to grow the skylanders franchise. Then again. if nintendo releases pokken fighters it will likely cannibalize the competition

I guess but its not like their partnership (along with all the other third parties) seemed to matter with the wiiU considering how no one buys any third party games for a variety of reasons

what? check those numbers again.

Sure some people buy 3rd party games on the WiiU, but it's by far the worst of the next gen systems in that regard. Even ZombiU, a launch title, had pretty disappointing sales...

I think LCU is the only major exception with a whopping 0.77m in 15 months lol.

Nobody chooses not to port a game to Wii U out of spite. That's just irrational -- there's always logistical/technical/business reason for it

I would argue for EA not porting out of spite but EA games don't sell on Nintendo consoles.

If anything I would think Activision would embrace Amiibo where you can play as the Amiibo characters in Skylanders.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

This with the UbiArt game Valiant Hearts not coming to the Wii U, I'm just assuming all third parties are avoiding eShop like the plague for the remainder of 2014... for whatever reason.

Judging how well Child of Light did, I think they'll come around to putting it on Wii U.

I think the issue is that publishers treat the Wii U like it's the Vita when it really isn't.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I agree. They don't do anything that couldn't be done in-game anyways.

How well did Child of Light do?

then its not really out of spite. Not porting your games because they dont sell on a system is just common sense.
