Forums - Nintendo - Is Amiibo bad for Nintendo's relationship with Activision?

So recently, we all know a Legend of Korra game was announced, oddly only coming to the 3DS considering it's a Nickelodeon games and has probably more potential to sell on Wii U than on PS4 or Xbox One. Could Activision be fustrated about Amiibo inevertently interefering with Skylanders potential sales for the 2014 year so much that they will not want to publish many games for Nintendo's main console? It comes as odd especially since Activision had said last year they want to do all they can to help. So is this just a case of not enough resources to port the game to Wii U, bad console sales or for the reason I just stated? Even if this isn't the reason you may think, do you think that Nintendo's new Amiibo's will have a negative impact on it's relationship with 3rd parties with similar strategies?

maybe

but I still think is a stupid move not release this game on Wii U.

What are they going to do about it? Not give them cod? As if anyone gives a shit about that anyways.

If done correctly and marketed properly Amiibo could make Nintendo billions.

Amiibo can make Nintendo more money than Actisvision......who is not even getting Legend of Korra on the U.

I guess but its not like their partnership (along with all the other third parties) seemed to matter with the wiiU considering how no one buys any third party games for a variety of reasons

It may bother them but it won t change anything between the 2 companies In the short to intermediate future- Nintendo consoles needs Skylanders and Skylanders needs Nintendo consoles- at the point in which one of those 2 DON T need the other- then things may break down between the 2 companies

I think Legend of Korra isn't on Wii U because Activision releases nothing on the Wii U eShop. I don't know the reason...

Reggie mentioned in the amiibo section of the Digital Event that Skylanders Trap Team and Disney Infinity will have unique features and functionalities exclusively on Wii U. Sounds more like collaboration.

Look up how Activision responded to Disney Infinity.

Activision certainly knows being a pioneer in a profitable market segment will certainly attract new competitors. Publicly, they've welcomed Disney Infinity as a means of increasing NFC gaming's appeal. They probably express the same thing with Amiibo.

By your logic, Activision would actually pull Skylanders from Wii U/3DS.

Nobody chooses not to port a game to Wii U out of spite. That's just irrational -- there's always logistical/technical/business reason for it

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I hope Amiibo takes a huge shit on Activision and Skylanders.
