Trying to see if I can copy my Mario Kart 8 data from my brother's ID to mine so I can use all the karts and characters I unlocked for him online with my own ID. Anyone know if this is possible or should I just let my brother use my NNID to have his own online points (VR points?) for Mario Kart 8. 

By the way, does changing your Mii in your NNID create a different online profile for MK8 in terms of of online points?

doesn't the data save on the Wii U itself? Can't you just insert a USB device and put the data on and move it? I'm not 100% sure as I have never done this but it would make sense.

I read online that it doesn't so I didn't try lol. But I'll try it now since I got time.

Yup, it turns out I can't do it. It won't let me copy/move individual NNID save file or shared data within the system or into a usb device.

On the plus side, I found a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries and figured out my old 2GB USB could is compatible

All Mario Kart 8 data including VR points is stored in your Mii. When two players play online on one system, they are both signed in to the same NNID while the different Mii's keep track on coins and points.
