So apparently a competitive team based game might not have voice chat. >.>
Sigh... Nintendo makes some of the best games but outside of that they're sooooooo backwards and primitive.

Well hopefully they do but if they don't, that will suck for online multiplayer! And before anyone says, nintendo's online sucks, I feel like this has to do with the developer not adding in voice chat cause its his decision (most likely due to the 10 year olds that make your mom jokes in cod) than nintendo's online capabilities
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
they probably did play online shooter game... and all they heard is "c*nt, fagg*t, n*gger, etc...." and they were like... fuck this chat shit!

They should do it for friends only. Playful banter with friends = fun. Asshole screaming in my ear = not fun.

Lolll, I guess that is always an interesting reason too! I can just imagine playing on a server and chatting with the kids saying "Hey kids! Have you watched 2 girls 1 cup? Its about eating tasty, tasty ice cream!" And then they will never trust anyone ever again! Good Life lesson though

I'm pretty sure those type of little kids don't exist on NN.
Again, I just can't facepalm enough at some of these dumb decisions.
Why not put in game chat? There is absolutely no reason to NOT give people the option. Just put it in there with the MUTE option. If you don't want hear anyone, just press that beautiful button and BAM, no one's talking. But if you do want to chat, you then have the option to talk with friends as well as people in the lobby you are playing against. Why does Nintendo want to decide if I should be able to talk to others or not? I can decide that for myself.
As for children and those who NEVER want to talk to anyone online, just turn off voice chat options entirely in parental controls. This was available on 360, so I can't see why it can't be present in a "next-gen" console. Nintendo seriously needs to get with the times.

If this is meant to attract the audience that usually plays third person shooters though, they definitely will exist
Current Consoles: Gaming PC, Wii U, 3DS
let me chat with friends thats all i ask
Personally I don't care too much; but an in game option for On, Friends Only, Off and global override provided through parental controls should keep everyone happy.
