Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 or Xbox One What exclusive would persuade me to buy either?

I'm thinking about buying either a PS4 or Xbox One, what games would you pick that would sell me on either systems and is NOT a shooter, FPS, TPS.

I'm looking for platfomers, something cartoony and fun to look at....thought at this point I be sounding a bit picky. At the moment, I'm slowly leaning torward the Xbox One only because of Project Sparks and I have a deep feeling that Rare are going to announce some platformers, now that Phil Spencer have given them more freedom of development. (I hope Banjo Kazooie get announce) I use to be a fan of Sony exclusives, but after seeing that last E3, at the moment, it's clear, Sony is aiming to make the PS4 a mulitplat machine, which there nothing wrong with that plan, but personally, I'm more of a console exclusives gamer, and I want more uniqne exclusive, that don't focus on simulating real life, but focus on being a video game. We get it, these consoles are powerful, and will make the third party developers very glee and probably succsseful, now show us some more exclusives. I know I said not shooters, but after seeing the Halo Collection and never played any of the Halo games, thought I did played the mulitplayer, sixty bucks for four games seem like an amazing deal and I Sunset Overdrive look like my kind of game, put a middle finger to realism and just be a video game.

PS: Don't bring up the Wii U because I already have one.

Uncharted and Halo

Max the Curse of Brotherhood is a fun Xbox One game (not exclusive). Ori and the Blind Forest looks amazing as well (not exclusive). Although both are not on PS. In terms of other games that fit your criteria... Not much else is available, or shown for either platform right now. MCC is a fantastic deal though and I'm not even a big Halo fan.

PS4 is going to have the better multiplats. And in terms of platformers there is LBP (not PS4 exclusive, but not available on Xbox).

If you want something cartoony and fun to look at, go with the Xbox One and get Sunset Overdrive.

@ Mystro lol :P

I have been messing around with the Project Spark beta, and it is indeed a lot of fun! On the PS4 side you have LBP3.

Xbox One has Fable Legends which is getting great previews (except from those who just want Fable 4 lol). I don't know where Sunset Overdrive would fall on your spectrum. It fits the bill of cartoony and fun to look at more than anything, but it also has shooting! I too am hoping for a Banjo Kazooie, and I know its a system-selling idea for many, but I wouldn't buy a console for something that isn't announced yet!

These threads tend to devolve very quickly. People will start list wars soon. I advise you to remain focused on what you like, and not what people tell you to like! Or stupid debates about who will 'win' the console war (at this point it is a forgone conclusion that both consoles will sell well enough to get EVERY major third party game that neither console owner is willing to buy exclusivity for).

Ratchet and Clank reboot is coming out next year. And Id imagine a Sly game will come out at some point to go with the movie they're making.

I'm holding out for a new Sly, the latest Sly game was good presentation wise, but the gameplay and over all challenge was utter crap. Sly Cooper is one of my favorite platformers and I even bought the collection, but Sly 4 really left a bad taste in my mouth.

MS will probably take more of a risk with their first party this gen compared to last gen, so if you want to go wild card mode then give the XBO a shot. Otherwise, a PS4 is the safer choice.
