Forums - Gaming - As a Wii U owner from launch, I feel ripped off by Nintendo...

So 2250 mAh is the big one? I believe my phone has a better battery... I always knew Nintendo was cheap, but this cheap? I'm very happy that I've decided to wait with my WiiU purchase.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I bought the larger battery for mine from play-asia.com

As far as I know, all the Gamepad that come with WiiU purchase have the 3.25hr battery. To get the 5.5 hour battery, you have to go out of your way to find/buy from places like play-asia.com

For a launch Wii U owner, you sure are bringing up a super old problem.

This problem has been known for a long time and been fixable for a long time. Also 2 hours is a gross overestimate. You easily get 3 hours out of the original.

Was there no other Nintendo Doom threads around that you needed to make this?

I find what is more annoying is that it seems to drain battery life even when it is turned off. So in the end I have the tablet constantly plugged in.

This was basically known since launch. One question though, is the gamepad weight similar with the new battery? I thought back then that the excuse for not including these since launch was weight reduction.

The Nyko one had 4000mAh, but apparently it isn't selling anymore.

Yeah not the greatest move nintendo has made, pretty much need to play with the gamepad plugged in which is a pain.

I didn't know you could get a better battery til I saw one on eBay this weekend. Nintendo Europe certainly kept it quiet and it's NoE packaging so not an import.

I've never been happy with the battery life of the pad.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

better than spending my whole damn paycheck on batteries like i did for the xbox360

Or you know, $5 on a set of rechargables, or $15 on play and charge set..

Unless $15 is your paycheck, then I wonder why you bought a games console at all..
