PS4 - 43%

Wii U - 30%

XBOne - 27%

It's a fairly even split.  PS4 has a solid but not dominating lead.  If these numbers were to hold true long-term (and not just from one week) we would see a similar result to last gen, only with Nintendo and Sony switching spots.  Thoughts?

It's the summer drought and Wii U is coming off MK8 which a lot of people were waiting for. IMO, I don't believe we will see any switching long term like last gen. The difference is the longer gen goes, the more advantage Sony has with it.

I am curious, what would you consider a dominating lead?

In a 3-way race it has to be at least 50%.  As it stands, more gamers are choosing to NOT game on PS4 than game on it.  Past market titans like NES and PS2 saw market share of 75-90%.

how can you call this a fairly even split, whats fairly even? PS4 - 43%  against Wii U - 30% or maybe you meant Wii U - 30% against XBOne - 27%

No one is dominating (yet) but its not It's a fairly even split by a long margin.

That is nowhere near an even split. Your example would lead ps4 at 112 mil, wii u at 78 mil and xbox at 70. A 34 million gap and 42 million gap aren't fairly  even split.

Indeed, it has been a dominant performance for PS4 thus far in 2014.  The question is, is it presently, and will it be going forward?

I don't have the figures for last gen so I can't comment :(
