So I finally figured out why I've been getting that obnoxious disc read error, and it turns out it has nothing to do with the online specifically, but rather one of my favorite courses, being Sunshine Airport! I found this out after my last online session, where I realized I hadn't raced on Sunshine Airport in a good while, so I made sure to pick it at every opportunity. When the randomizer finally picked it, I got that disc read error again and I was like "really, right when we were finally gonna go there?" So a good while later Sunshine Airport get's picked again, and once again error, and then I was like "wait a minute!" Turned console back on, went back into MK8, went to singleplayer, went into VS mode, picked the Airport, and bam, disc read error again! So for some reason Sunshine Airport just don't work period anymore. Welp, guess I'll have to call Nintendo then and in the meantime never ever pick this track!

Scratch or production defect where that tracks data is on the disc. Nintendo will replace it if it's a defect.

I had 1 crash today. I was playing online and my Wii U crashed on the "player viewing" screen (don't know what else to call it), it was very weird. Maybe this is not an isolated problem...

Also, why the fuck do I still get communication errors? Seriously the fuck Nintendo....I can barely play 3 matches in a row without getting a fucking communication error...I wouldn't be so mad if it didn't happen in the middle of a race...but fucking hell it ALWAYS happens on the fukcing 3rd lap.... 

I haven't gotten a communication error for two weeks or so. Maybe it's a combination of something for you.

OT: I had no idea this was an Einsam_Delphin thread. I feel bad for you though, Sunshine Airport is awesome.

I know it's Nintendo's problem...when I play races where there are 6 or less people I have no problems at all, I played like 10 matches in a row with the same 5 guys (it was kinda weird nobody else entered the room but whatever) and it was beautiful... it always happens when there are too many people in the room...

Also I can play much heavier online games without any freaking problems....why does this only happens with MK8?

You could also try actually putting the disk in the case when you're finished playing.

Clean your disc! I remember doing that as a child with my (pirate) PS1 games. It always worked (but I'm sure it wasn't related)
