Forums - Gaming - Why PC Gaming is kinda dissapointing

Already turning into a fanboy thread... LOL.

Well, get a PS3 then :P. I have my PC only for RTS games.

I know this is my personal preference, but my god where the fuck are the JRPGS? Like there's not much of them and most MMO''s suck ass and the indies are just okay. Seeing as JRPGS are my favoritneThee only recenty JRPG game I found that wass 3D and had a decent budget for PC was The Last Remnant and that game was just "okay".

I know I can just emulate a lot of games but man it's not even worth the effort most of the time. If PC had more JRPG's I'd honestly love the hell out of PC gaming but until then I'll just be a console gamer. Shame because I love the PC's openess, mods and messing around with graphical settings.

I know right? If Jrpgs and well more japanese games would come to PC I would drop console gaming by 66%.

I mean I already play all third party games on PC because better cheaper and modable.

its somewhat funny because in japan there is a billion of PC games but all are dating sims or hentai games etc. Bigger Jrpgs are nowhere to be found and are just console games. If anything you get the super lazy games  like 2d avatars that are just pictures in front of always the same background image (as a cutscene/conversation) and no world to explore but more of a level select screen etc. Or RPG maker shit.

I also want big jrpg games to hit PC.

"I always thought the reason it was disappointing was because of DRM, getting games later or not at all, bad optimized ports, and troubleshooting why a game doesn't work the way it's supposed to on my PC. Could have picked a lot better reasons than lack of JRPGS." Already answered some of the questions.

DRM is really a non-issue. no different from PS4 or a Xbox. You can play your games offline and when you want to play online, you connect through steam, origin, or uplay.

Yes, you're right. we do get games later, but we also have games that never show up on consoles. goes both ways.

there are some badly optimized ports, yes, but there's nothing better than running a game at its full potential ala Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex, or Tomb Raider. It's a poorly optimizied port that still runs better than its console counterparts

I really don't understand why you'd invest in a powerful PC capable of so much and only use it for MMOs. Your decision to not explore what's available.

Probably had to do with the fact that my friends only wanted to play MMOs and MOBAs on PC.

Then it's bad to invest in a PC because you don't have enough friends playing other games? I'm guessing you have enough friends to play on PS4 then. The cons you've listed are definitely worthy of discussion, but don't ride it off because of your decisions.

But yeah, more JRPGs would be nice. Tecmo Koei, Namco, and Square Enix have shown some interest in Steam, but their offerings haven't been great. Would be great if Atlus was also on board.
