Well since this is just dynasty warriors with a zelda skin slapped on it I'm willing to guess that it will never go pass 250K for lifetime in japan as zelda hasn't being all that popular in japan ...
As for the WII U sales when it releases that week I don't see the WII U climbing over 20K in that territory.
That's difficult. It is a Warriors game --> Japanese like. It is a Zelda game --> Japanese don't like so much. And the Warriors games came for systems with a bigger number of players. Mhh. I am very optimistic...
I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?
I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.
I'd expect the sales boost to be somewhere between those of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors boosts.
In 2011, Dynasty Warriors 7 boosted PS3 sales by about 30%, and Skyward Sword boosted Wii sales by about 50%. So if we suppose a 40% boost, plus an extra, say, 3,000 to account for the fact that Wii U sales have been depressed, we would expect somewhere around 21-22k.
This is the "ordinary" prediction, on the assumption that the game isn't going to get a big following. If Japan reacts strongly to Hyrule Warriors (and they very well could), we could be set to see something closer to 50k. This is on the assumption that Japan's interest is strongly captured, Nintendo pushes the game hard, and a lot of Japanese gamers held off on buying a Wii U for this game.
35k, its a dynasty game no matter how much zelda they got
45k plus. They are already confirmed for 3 versions of Hyrule Warriors. I wouldn't rule out a bundle either, none announced yet due to them wanting them to buy a Wii U now. It's gonna be big.
