Sony is definitely not the "white knights" ps4 fans make them out to be. They already lied about it being ps3 only, then they price it at $50 (clear money grab), then they won't give people who preordered at least a $10 refund. I'm sure people will still say it's alright because it's sony.

Sorry, but how is $50 a clear money grab? I doubt you even know who Sony's taurget audience is with this game.

EDIT: Never mind. Just took a look at your post record. You're obviously a Microsoft lover and Sony hater.

Go read his N4G comments for a huge laugh

Can you Link please

You preorder (aka give persmission) and then they withdraw when it "ships" or in a digital case, comes out.  That's exactly what amazon does when you preorder except it's physical so you get charged when it ships.

Sounds like a good way to overdraft. I always thought amazon took the money when you ordered too since you get the game on launch day. Meaning, the money must have been taken already because the game isn't sent out the same day you get it.

no.  The money exchanges when it ships which is usually 2 or 3 days before it comes out.  Before that you can cancel at any time.  No money is exchanged until a couple days before the release day.  In other words you would have from now until July 26 to cancel your order and never get charged.

I'll tell you what the actual story here is. Games almost never get price changes before release, it's just not historically common at all. Every corporation has it's structures and policies, and they rigidly go through them. In this case the decision to lower the price of the title leaves the preorder in a weird place where there's no precedent for the peons in customer service to go on. It's plainly obvious that they will adjust it (possibly even with a small bonus) once someone with actual decision making capacity gets the word. Sony isn't salivating over the $10 that a handful of extremely silly people paid over the previous price for a DIGITAL pre order, lmao.

It is just a case where there was no precedent for the bottom tier rep to deal with it, and no corporation gives their bottom rung employees any real leeway in cases like this.

Also, LOL at anyone who is attacking Sony on this that is a Microsoft fan. Did Microsoft refund anyone who bought an XB1 and predorder of Titanfall in February $110 when they made a $450 bundle? I think not.

so whats the reasoning for them not allowing you to cancel your pre-order?

How about how all those Xbox one buyers at $499 and preordered Titanfall got refunded the $110, that sure was looking out for their customers.

This comparison is stupid because the Xbox One had already been released by that point.

Stupidity, plain and simple. I very much doubt that the policy will stay the same now that it will get the attention of some higher up personnel. Of all the things involved in running a digital delivery service, people pre ordering digital games probably doesn't amount to many folks at all. Surely there aren't that many that would loan money to anyone for items that aren't supply or shipment constrained.

Did Sony give everyone who bought knack $60 when they gave it away for free to everyone who ordered a ps4 in japan

Sony will come to the rescue and try and make them the good guys in this case and make it look like they really care about there customer. Even though they create this terrible, anti customer pre-order clause. Why would anyone pre-order from there online. Makes no sense to me. 1st off, why the hell do you need to pre-order a digital game. 2nd, now that this policy is out, why would you even consider it in the future. The only reason Sony will be giving out credits is because this is coming out to the media, if it didn't, they could careless.

You're right!  They COULD care less!  Then again they could care a little more.

I love how some fans take chances hammering Sony, whenever it makes some mistake. And then Sony fixes issues and there's nowhere to those be seen apologizing, the same people that hammers Sony in articles like these. WHYYYYY

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Titanfall hadn't though. A buyer in early February would be stuck paying $499 + $60. A month later both together were $110 cheaper. And Knack comparison is stupid because that was an old 2013 title.

Bottom line corporations don't care about you. Anything that makes it seem like they do is just PR.

just asking here. Why should you apologize for complaining about something that was obviously wrong at the time. Even if they fix the issue, noone in this thread should apologize for saying this is a dick move by Sony.

and off topic: I knew this was somehow going to be spun into a Sony vs Microsoft thread. Why?

Okay, so think of this as "a few days before its shipped" then. I never preorder because the money sitting wherever to hold onto the copy is not worth it.
