It doesn't make any sense. Go to Amazon.com for example and look at the 360 Pro and Elite SKUs. They're sold out and were only actually in stock for a very short while. While shortages may work for the Wii because of it's unique controller and appeal the same can't be said of the 360 which is in direct competition with the PS3. So why is it 2 months after Christmas there is still very few of the systems to go around?

Legend, I'm a bit shocked you are posting this. You already know the fanboys are just going to say there aren't any shortage, then go on about how they seen 150 Elite's and Pro's stacked at their Best Buy.

Two possibilities I can think of -- one good for MS, one bad.

1) They are restructuring their entire SKU system. Perhaps they are dwindling down to a single SKU to avoid customer confusion, or are prepared to release a whole new group of SKUs, at a new price point, and perhaps with GTA IV bundled in somehow.

2) They don't have enough refurbished units to compensate for the enormous amont of RROD claims, and are being forced to take units directly from the supply chain as replacements for already owned (but irreparably broken) systems.  

 why there's still a 'shortage'? Because xbox is still getting PWNED by PS3. ;)

Seriously It looks like they planning on realeasing something new, or have fixed the 360 and are replacing with stable units.

To be honest though i saw elites and premiums and walmart and target but they didnt have ps3's >_>

Let me say this with unequivocable certainty, as my last "inside tip" from my TRU job.

There is, unquestionably, inarguably a 360 shortage, particularly on the Premium and Elite SKUs.
