4th. The SNES and beginnings of modern era PC gaming (early '90s) are unbeatable, and 2 of the largest reasons gaming is as famous and popular as it is today.

4th-6th generation for me personally. If I had to pick one, it would be 4th.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

5th gen, no question.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Well, 8th gen, because most games from every gen can be played today.

As for a single gen alone, I had the most fun in the 7th gen, pretty much because I bought the most games that gen.

The period of time between 1978-1993, basically. The major genres of games were created in this period.

For me it's 5th gen, every gen after that has been getting worse and worse

I always view it as the SNES being the 2d golden era, and the ps2 being the 3d golden era. Both generations really refined and perfected everything seen in the previous gen.

Hi

5th & 6th generations. That is when gaming really began to grow and reach out to a wider audience.

PS1 & PS2 were just incredible consoles.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Gaming today is just incomplete beta games with DLC ripoff, pay to win and micropayments. This could easily lead to another video game crash.

A few decades down the road it will be the 7th gen. I don't think we'll ever see those kinds of sales again.

HW - System (SW)

155 - DS (816)
101 - Wii (920)
83 - PS3 (830)
83 - 360 (893)
81 - PSP (962)

4,421,000,000 (software)
503,000,000 (hardware)

And the numbers are still climbing.
