The CAPCOM information is wrooong. CAPCOM is NOT up for sell. CAPCOM is not up for merger. The move to not approve CAPCOM's takeover defense was decided by their investors as a wake up call to get themselves in gear. I dont know what has gotten into Nintendo community. Its like hivemind delusion.

Actually, its all over the internet and not just the "Nintendo community" Can you give me the link of where it says that Cap is not up for sale

There is no link that says CAPCOM is not up for sell because their is no link that says CAPCOM is up for sell. Losing your takeover defense does not mean you are trying/willing to bought. This not like index/Atlus who put themselves on the market with the intention of being bought. CAPCOM up to be forcefully takenover against their wishes.

How much Capcom costs?

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

another one of these threads @.@ Buying Capcom as a whole would likely not be a good investment (however, I obviously don't have all of the facts). If it was possible to snag some IPs and maybe a dev studio, that would be a good idea, but I don't think Capcom is willing to be broken apart like that.

Saying this is "Iwata's last chance" is pretty ridiculous...

They just need to buy out the majority which is at least 51 percent. I think Capcom Is only around the 1.5 billion dollar mark. So pay 1 billion and that is 66 percent. It will be better for them in the long run.

I is about IPs... but Nintendo also need to have more dev studios, even more than new IPs. And sure, it is more expensive buy shares, but you also buy good working studios not only IP or bankrupt weak studios.

But they can still have their shares bought out. It is not that they are going to be out of business but a matter of they want to stay in business.

If Iwata does not make the right decision and buy them out, he should be fired! (unless they are not financially able to which i highly doubt)

Is this Iwata's last chance?

Makes total and complete sense.   /sarcasm

He can't just make a decision like that. The decision would probably have to be approved by the board of directors and if they don't want it then it won't happen.

If Capcom was doing great, they wouldn't be in this position. Capcom is pretty huge and has a lot of problems internally. Nintendo taking all of that on would likely not be the greatest idea and be a pretty big mess for them to clean up. I agree that Nintendo needs more dev studios and Capcom's IPs would be great, but the downside is too strong to take this all on. There is also the fact that this would be a takeover, which may go against the wishes of many of Capcom's staff, so who knows how long they would stick around.

Like I said, if Capcom was willing to downsize and sell a dev studio and a few IPs, Nintendo should jump on that, but I don't think Capcom is in that position just yet...

How many Nintendo shares Iwata bought last year? He do this one more time this year with the same cash and Nintendo will own more than 50% of Capcom shares.
