All three of those games in the first sentence were delayed and turned out good. That wasn't desperate Nintendo's doing though, because at that time we saw delusional Nintendo (they didn't believe that things were heading off a cliff for the Wii U, because the savior Super Mario 3D World was yet to release) |
You're right. Iwata (Or Reggie?) said that one game can change everything. I know Reggie said Wii U sales in the US quadrupled the week after Mario Kart (Meaning Week Ending June 7th is undertracked), but I really doubt It'll have a lasting effect since the next game is 3 months away (2 in Japan, I think).
Nintendo's release schedule ruins their momentum, once again... But this is off topic, so we should stop here!

| RolStoppable said: Aren't you forgetting about the sea in The Wind Waker? Same story (stretch the length of an incomplete game), different flavor. There are people who say that desperate Nintendo is the best Nintendo, but desperate Nintendo actually puts out games that clearly should have been delayed. The GC was in trouble (just like the N64 before), so Nintendo cut corners to spur sales quicker (just like with Mario Kart 64 and Yoshi's Story). |
The Gamecube as a whole disproves the "desperate Nintendo is the best Nintendo" idiom.
They produced much better games when they were kicking arse with the Wii.

I don't really think the amount of work they put into their games is affected by their sales. It just happens that lots of Wii games got great scores because the ideas were better than the games on GameCube.
I like 3D World more.
I do like Sunshine though, I just found it way to difficult.
nice
If only they had put in online, then this would be a no brainer, but they didn't, so SM3DW's multiplayer does nothing for me as my lame boring friends can't play anything that doesn't have Super Smash Bros. in the title. I'll just 100% the game first like I did Sunshine before giving the final verdict!

I'm guessing you didn't 100% 3D World then, right?

It's perfectly understandable why your friends only want to play competitively and not cooperatively. All Justin Bieber fans need to be beaten up. |
Except you can play competitively in SM3DW, what with everyone having their own individual score, therefore competitive vs cooperative has nothing to do with it, they simply don't play anything asside from Smash, as I had already said ya foo!
Sunshine is my favorite Mario game PERIOD. Though 3D World is a respectable second.
I havent played 3D World yet, im debating on whether to get that or MK8 next. I havent played Sunshine in over a decade but I really enjoyed it back in the day.
