That probably wouldn't be a worthwhile purchase for Nintendo.

It would make more sense for MS or Sony to buy Capcom. But I don't believe Capcom is in a position where it needs to be sold.

you do realize that Capcom held the second best selling 3DS game in Japan in 2013 right? Infact, it was the second best selling game in Japan over all. IT was also 11th for global over all and it was only in one region (Going by individual sales per platform of course).  So I am pretty sure that spells out "Very worth it to buy".

It depends on how much Capcom is selling for and bear in mind most of Capcom's software won't be sold on Nintendo hardware.

Maybe you feel Nintendo should buy Monster Hunter, buying all of Capcom wouldn't make much sense for Nintendo.

I hope so, and they should. Also, it's possible since Nintendo wants to buy and Capcom wants to sell. I wouldn't doubt this has been in the works for some time, since Nintendo announced that buy-back some time ago. Nintendo needs Monster Hunter on its handhelds, and they need more content - especially mature content - on its home consoles. Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, etc, would compliment Nintendo's current lineup and bring with it dedicated fans to expand the Wii U (and beyond) user base. Classic titles like Mega Man, etc could also be milked by nostalgia-savy Nintendo. It would be a great fit.

Nintendo wants to buy Capcom-  have they stated that in the past or is there reasonably reliable information to that effect out there in the news somewhere?

Nintendo wants to buy something, I didn't say Capcom. Nintendo did a share buy back in preparation for a merger or acquisition. Capcom is now open to a takeover. Capcom is worth about 1.5 billion dollars US, Nintendo has about 8 billion in cash and available assets. Nintendo needs more capacity and some titles to draw in mature fans; and they also can't afford to lose Monster Hunter. It's a great fit. But no, Nintendo didn't say they wanted to buy Capcom specifically.

You're funny. But yes, if Nintendo bought Capcom, all Capcom software would be on and only on Nintendo platforms.

If they do, they'll be able to have more games available with a faster output to reduce droughts and increase the diversity of games on Nintendo platforms.

No.Capcom has millions of fans who don't play Nintnendo and their games have sold best on PlayStation.

Yes.....yes they should.

Nintendo fans are funny. Why would you want games taken from everyone else just so Nintendo can benefit/be saved? If Nintendo had that much money then they can make some new franchises since they never do.

That's literally the exact reason why Nintendo should buy Capcom. Nintendo wants people who don't play Nintendo to play Nintendo. If Street Fighter V was a Wii U exclusive, that community would buy a Wii U faster than you can sa-

I mean as it stands right now most of Capcom's software sold is on Xbox and Playstation. Most of their IPs don't have a large audience on Nintendo platforms.

If Nintendo bought Capcom they wouldn't even bother using most of the IPs because there is little audience for them on Nintendo platforms.

Look at MS with Rare, they don't use many of the IPs because there isn't a big audience on Xbox for 3D platformers.

I'm sure that's what MS was thinking when they bought Rare. Did that bring them a large casual audience? Not really.
