Forums - Gaming - Capcom now for Sale?

I really hope Nintendo doesnt buy them. We'll never see any of those IPs again otherwise x.x people had to beg for years to get another Starfox game, and we're just FINALLY getting it. I dont think they should, if they do they better not abandon these IPs like they have with others

Miyamoto didn't think Star fox would be good enough on the wii. Plus, they would still be making the games they are now. Like Ace Attorney, and monster hunter, you know, the important ones.

This has been taken overboard to the extreme. CAPCOM is not for sell(not offering themselves to a buyer), this just means they are now susceptible to forceful takeovers... basically anything bought against there will. Japanese publishers dont do forceful takeovers. Notice every time a japanese publisher buys out another japanese company, it is someone small they already have close relations to: SEGA - Atlus, Konami - hudson soft or companies with similar styles merging that strengthen each other: Tecmo&Koei, Square and Enix. There will no buy outs of CAPCOM. Hell, they state they will be pursuing other safety methods.......which there are alot. Put your dicks back in pants and your toys back under the pillow.

and you think someone else buying them will be different? Nintendo has at least shown support for Megaman and they will definitally jump on Monster Hunter and Ace Attorney.

I think Microsoft would benefit more from the buyout of Capcom.

They can cater to both mature and casual market on Xbox one. Securing the Monster Hunter franchise alone could help boost sale of Xbox one in Japan.

Doubt it. Japan is handheld country, unless Microft bundles the X1 with a special backpack that can hold the console and a rechargeable battery. And a screen.

Buying a big unprofitable third party to make games only on your platform might be too risky for Nintendo They're currently in trouble selling their games on all platforms how much money will Nintendo exclusivity lose them? A handful of smaller acquisitions might make more sense to Nintendo.

It would single handedly fix all Nintendo's woes about them having to few games though. Nintendo + Capcom is all they need to carry the console and gamers who object to buying a Nintendo console (because they need to compensate for having a small penis or something) might have a better time thinking of it as a Capcom console.

Ever heard of a game called Monster Hunter 4? You know, the exclusive 3DS capcom game that sold 4 million in Japan within the span of six months?

That's just a tiny chunk of capcom. They'd have to down scale work on big budget franchises like resident evil dramatically to have a hope of those games being profitable.

(and get me more Monster Hunter!),

But you're getting all the Monster Hunter already :(

Come on Sony! time to bring MH home again.
The rest of capcoms franchises are not worth paying for except street fighter.

Yeah. If Nintendo don't buy them with all the support and IPs on their platforms (Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, Resident Evil etc.) then I just don't know.

Come on Nintendo. Splash a little of that cash and you get a highly skilled dev to handle some of your other IPs and/or to create something a little more mature for you. It's a win win!

I mean yeah, it's not gonna happen. But it could really help Nintendo out and would get me lots more cool games!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I would love for Nintendo to buy them, but Nintendo being Nintendo that seems unlikely. Second choice is Sega!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Yes that's a possibility, someone buying up 100% shares, but for that to happen people have to sell them.  The most likely scenario is a single entity owning a 51% or more stake in them.  Which is very different from let's say, Yahoo buying Flickr.  Yahoo bought Flickr and attemped to integrate them into their eco system.  Someone owning 51% of Capcom can just be a shareholder yelling for more profits.

You don't need to buy all the shares, just the majority.

Yes, but Capcom would still be be an entity.
