Looking at American charts, the PS3 sold about 80k. Motorstorm sold about 10k.
So this means that of the 80,000 sold, only 10,000 were the 80Gb version (Even less if you count non-packaged sales of the game). Is the 40GB version really outselling it at a 8:1 ratio?

personally, I've seen more people buying 40GB in Canada, than 80, so I suppose it's possible
don't get me wrong, I would NEVER buy 40gb myself, but i suppose people are cheap/already own a PS2

The 80gb might be totally out of stock (remember all those threads about it being phased out). But I haven't actually been to any electronic stores recently.

The 40gb is definitely the best selling PS3 here in Europe, as it is the only model available.
The 80gb isn't out-of-stock in my area, so if any wants them, I'll be a good middleman to get one...with a fee.

i just went to wal mart and best buy in canada, and i saw a total of 10 people with 40gb p3's in their hands and at wal mart, i saw a whole bunch of 80 gigs in the glass case thingy, sloppily packed
10 in their hands? Yea, you have to be exagerating...
I personally think that Motorstorm is just undertracked. It would be the simplest solution.
I think that the eighty gig is getting phased out, and we'll be receiving word on it in the near future. We may only have one SKU, to get rid of confusion. And no one needs to come in here talking about the lack of b/c as a reason it will stop selling, as the 40 gig has outsold the 80 gig 8:1 this week, so that argument is null and void.
That said, i do believe that we will be receiving word on a 160 gig SKU with a dualshock (maybe b/c), in the NEAR future.
One of the cheapest blu-ray players, and blu-ray just won the format war, therefore its not really that unlikely that it would not continue to sell at the rate its selling currently.
