I'm somewhere in low teens for triple AAA, but before playstation plus it used to be more, then add on steam sales and straight up downloadables... I don't understand people in single figures, how is that even possible...

Buying order: Switch, better pc

Buying games on the cheap in Steam bundles and such, is kind of cheating. lol

For me, the answer is entirely dependent on how much spending $$$$$ I have on hand, any given year. Back in 2007/2008, I had a lot more $$$$ to blow on games, so I blew more $$$$ on games. In the last few years, it's been a LOT more selective, simply because the $$$$ hasn't been as readily there to blow on gaming.

For instance, I absolutely would have bought W101 when it released, as well as Dragon's Crown, but I haven't gotten around to buying either yet, sadly.

I'd say about 5 retail and 10 digital. Digital includes indie and classic games.

As many that interest me, so about 6 or 7 a year to be honest.

I probably go for 10 year. Usually to catch up on what I didn't bother when it was new. So usually the older system gets more purchases than current. Steam I never binge buy cheap games. My friend has like 300 games and probably only beat maybe 5%. Let alone even started all of them... Only things I know I will play and beat. I have like 40 games on Steam. 80% are from a retail disc purchase, in the first place. Which resticts that habbit. I also buy used retro games. Recently I bought 6 NES/Fami games this year.

Not as many as I use to.

Let's see:

Super Mario 3d World (Wii U)
Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Wii U)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS)
Mario Kart 8 (Wii U - ordered it, should arrive in a few days)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (PS2)
Super Mario World (Wii U Download)

I know it's pretty lackluster, but I spent most of the time this year on Dreamcast, PS2 and N64. The list would be way longer if I could add these games.

20 so far this year, although Pikmin 3 came free, 2 are from Kickstarter, and Left behind is DLC.

8-9 full games that have a retail version and maybe 10 small downloadable games/classics.

Also, summer has never been really a big release season. There is usually only one big game at most that releases on each platform during the summer.
