Forums - Gaming Discussion - MGS V : Phantom Pain 1080p/60fps on PS4

Even if it wasn't, I'm sure it would be a perfectly smooth experience. Just looking at Kojima's track record, I fully trust his team to deliver.

60FPS in a open world game, nice! What does it run on PS3?

This was expected. Ground Zeroes was 1080p and rarely dropped a single frame from 60fps.

In all honesty the game isn't that graphically impressive to begin with, at least the ps4/XOne versions.

so the game looks bad? And compared to what?

Glad to see someone making 60fps games on ps4, after playing destiny i feel that it could be 60 fps too.

I got that feeling too, if they hadn't capped it at 30fps it'd probably average at a framerate similar to TR DE. The ps4 did not seem to be struggling at all, no drops/hitches, the fan was silent.. phooey to Bungie

Well, bungie hasn't made a game running at more than 30fps ever iirc. So its kinda their thing. I think they aim more for stability than all out performance. Besides, they say the XBO version is going to also be running at 1080p@30fps. Thats a clear confimration that the PS4 isn't being tasked. I honestly won't be surpised to find out that they have the game optimzed for the XBO, port it over to the PS4 then add a framerate cap and a lit polish here and there. Its what i would do if i were a multiplat developer since you at least know that if you can get the game stable on the XBO, its dfinitely going to run on the PS4. I think its the same thing The witcher 3 guys are doing.

Would be happier if the game was next-gen only and running at 1080p60 but it still looks very good so not gonna complain.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Awesome news. Much better than 900p or 30fps XD
