Destiny is not a Sony exclusive! Even though they are kinda acting like it is.

Let's see... typically sales are about 100-150k per week for PS4 and about 40-50k for XO, with either one spiking to around 200k when there's a major release. There aren't any more big releases for either console until September (Destiny arrives on both consoles, though that one seems to be getting marketed more for PS4).

If they keep up about 50k and 125k per week through the next few months, then by the beginning of September PS4 will be at around 9.4-9.5 million and XO at about 5.1 million. I have a feeling both might sell less than that, though; this is typically the slowest sales period of the year and with hardly any games coming to either console, I could see both of them dragging a bit.

Anyway, it doesn't look like it'll happen any earlier than September. Since Destiny is coming to both consoles and will probably spike sales for both a bit, I'm actually going to say that it won't happen until the end of the year.

Look at watch dogs sales and system sales, then await the inevitable fact that the ps4 version will be superior (aa/stable framerate/effects/lod/etc). And that's before you consider the exclusive content, marketing, and bundle. Watch dogs was massively more successful on ps4, destiny will take that to a new level.

I would have thought it would be impossible for PS4 to achieve 2:1 after MS unbundled kinect, but that hardly seemed to have an impact.

Well I can say this for a fact! I have a PS4 right now, I bought 2nd hand about a month ago (brand new of course got a sweet deal) But I will sell it and buy the Destiny Bundle! The White PS4 is just two damn good to pass up! This thing is going to fly off the shelves, it's going to be crazy!

As good as both consoles are with exclusives (both are pretty even this year IMO) what tips the balance is the MP games all have better versions on PS4, that fact is not lost on many... PS4 will double the XB1 come February of 2015 IMO.

Before November begins. On a more serious question, when will ps4 double X1+WiiU and then quadruple X1?

PS4 needs to sell what? 900k more with the XB1 selling zero from where we are today. Even if that were to happen (which it obviously won't) it would take at the current rate (approx. 200k a month) 4.5 months.

If the XB1 doesn't start selling more than 50k a month though it will hit that double sales mark in about 6 months.

The Destiny bundle and obligatory GTA V bundle will most likely cause a jump for PS4 sales in there but still I'm saying no sooner than November guys.

I think PS Now could be a big mover for PS4 if the pricing is right, and the games are worth while. It is going into open beta July 31st in the US.

There has got to be around 20 million gamers in the US that jumped from PS2 to 360 based on sales data. I am sure a few of them are ready to board the next generation, and would love to have the PS3 games they missed out on as part of the deal.
