Because saying, "Nope, we don't stand a chance against these consoles, ours is a failure," to the public would have been the better answer, right?

It's just PR talk. If anything we should be talking about how stupid the reporter is for asking a troll-bait question like this.

No one is above 5 million overall lead. No major game release except for maybe MK8, has been out as of yet. No new IP has truly garnered the darling moniker of this generation. I understand we have preliminary strong starters, but this is by no means gg. We have at least another holiday before one of the consoles cement their dominance for this generation. Right now we just need to see where this is going.

Wii U is done, very poor third party support. Nintendo can't back up the console by itself at least not to 80M sales, I agree MS could have a comeback.

Wii had very poor third party support too, but it's already above 100mil.  So you're correct because this is bizzaro world.
