I don't know why people blame Reggie. Microsoft did the same in the last gen and nobody cared with the fact that X360 launched a year before than Wii and PS3.
To most people here, X360 and PS3 are equal in terms of sales despite the year of advantage. I don't see why this is different.

He's making quotes for national news. These are people who don't even know the Wii U is a different console, how the hell are they supposed to know things like that. People just need to accept Nintendo and Sony for who they are. If the chance comes that Nintendo goes to sony for a platform merge(N missed out 20 years ago) then we'll have the best of both companies. Nintendo just lacks 3rd party support but really, even if it did have 3rd party support they wouldn't sell well on Nintendo because they've built a reputation as has sony and MS. If there is a next gen N will most likely take power approach to get 3rd party developers back but really, who's going to choose between 3 consoles for a single game. If you ask me they should all just merge one console and call it a day. Sony will win this gen hands down. Especially if Dragon Quest XI hits PS4 in Japan. Reggie, just keep being you.
The Wii U has actually sold 2 million more units secretly that have never been reported.
That's why it's a dirty little secret.
If Nintendo keeps the price a couple of hundred dollars lower than the other consoles, they can be competitive.

It seems you are focusing on the week of MK8 release... any other week X1 was selling more than WiiU so they were closing the gap, and probably they will keep closing it slowly. Maybe 1-1.5M difference on the end year between them.

Microsoft and Sony never lied when the Wii was winning. They just said they were far more powerful machines with many more times the better games than Wii, and they were telling the truth.
I don't get why people are all up in arms about this response... Honestly, if you were in his position, what would you do? It is not like you are going to be like "Yeah, our product sucks compared to this one and that one will definitely do better than us". The same this would happen if Microsoft was asked this only they say the Xbox will win. At least Nintendo is not out right saying "Hey, Wii U will see more!" nor is he making the cocky remarks that Sony is currently making now.
Also, in his comment he doesn't say the Wii U will outside the PS4, he just said it would do better than the Xbox One so why is the title of this topic saying he said that it'll outsell both?
reggie works for nintendo... of course he needs to sugar coat to sell more stocks....
