Forums - Nintendo - Will Star Fox bomb on the Wii U? Post your early predictions

It's gonna end up being a disaster and I pity a lot of star fox fans since it will most likely be the last start fox game ...

Depends how "pure" of an experience it is. Considering Miyamoto is making it, I will choose to have faith.

If it is awesome and amazing, it will probably do 4-5 million.
If it is decent, it will do 2-3 million.
If it sucks, 1-2 million.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Course it WiiU bomb.

Star Fox should feature vehicular combat along with third-person cover based combat.

Imagine an opening level where you're tasked with secretly retrieving an important item from an enemy base. You move through the base, on-foot, as Fox until you retrieve the item and steal an enemy ship. As you ascend you send out a signal and Falco, Slippy, and Krystal depart from the mothership to help escort you back. Each sequence should take roughly 10 minutes.

I always envision Star fox done in the style of Gears of War, but with more vehicular combat. I feel that an on rails shooter just doesnt have the appeal to sell as well as smething like that.

People just want a remake of StarFox 64. Every game in the series after it, fans hate...

It will bomb because it will be a Starfox themed Gamepad demo and not the epic sequel fans want.

Really really depends whether they manage to make something that inspires people again.

It needs to be taken to a new level in both involvement and visuals. They need to pull a Fire Emblem Awakening with this one, if they don't want it to be left in the shadows.

Starfox Adventures and StarFox Assault sold over 1 million each, doesn't sound bad to me at all. StarFox 64 sold more, true, but the market has changed drastically and an On Rails Shooter won't sell much anymore. A combo os SF64 mixed with SF Assault if done right, could fare much better sales. Advertising and marketing will also affect sales.

but but but  star fox loyalist want a rehash HD of star fox 64.

I want a star fox that takes the best of all the games (even the one that wasn't originally a star gox game) and throw in a story with some firefly style humor to the characters.

Sounds like you'd be happy if Nintendo really did let Kamiya do a Star Fox game. :) Who knows, maybe they'll pull him and some of his team in for the long run after Miyamoto gets the prototype just right.
