Little Big Planet is the safe bet here, and could sell as much, if not more, than bayo 2 and sunset overdrive combined.

Lifetime: Sunset Overdrive - 2.5 million LBP3 - 4 million Bayonetta 2 - 800k
This is without bundles! Note: Bayonetta 2 comes with the frist game as well. LBP was never super popular but with the PS4 drought this will be a huge hit. Sunset overdrive looks badass but will not be popular with dude bros. It will appeal more to the hardcore gamer and young teens. |
i would argue that Sunset overdrive will appeal more to young teens only, after seeing gameplay it just looks dumb to me, the whole premiss is goofy energy drinks turn people into monsters who want more energy drinks idk theres really nothing about what i saw of the game that looked fun to me, maybe im getting old and that style game doesnt appeal to me or maybe im just right and its dumb looking who knows.
LbP3 of course, it will sell A LOT.
It's a game for all people, casuals or not, so it will be the best of these three, something like 4-5 millions lifetime, as a long-seller.
Maybe bayonetta as the second one, being the seond game of a popular serie, with 2 games for the normal price. A good marketing and it could sell well, like 1,5 millions lifetime.
SO will probably flop, because of the same month, there are some others Big AAA games who will totally stomp on him.
I think this game will sell less than dead rising 3, so probably 1 million.

I completely agree with your reasoning but still think Sunset Overdrive and Bayonetta will sell a little more than that.

I think LBP3 will sell the most. It will be out in November, and will be against very few games aimed toward a younger audience. A LBP - PS4 bundle could do solid business during the Holiday shopping season.
I think Bayonetta will do decently, and will definitely attract a portion of current WiiU owners looking for a more adult fare. However, I doubt it will attract many newcomers interested in the game, because it will be tough to justify the purchase of a system with very few adult games. I see Bayonetta more as a catalogue title for people picking up WiiU a couple of years from now when it drops in price.
Sunset Overdrive, I feel will be the biggest commercial disappointment this fall. It seems to juvenile for serious shooter fans, and too violent for a younger audience. (Personally, that last trailer was very irritating, the main character is horrible). I don't know who they are aiming for here: Shaun White skating fans, fans of Saint's Row type off-the-wall humor, Dead Rising fans...?
However, I think it would have had solid numbers had it released this April, or in Feb/March 2015.
MS has chosen a strange date, going head-to-head with their promoted 3rd party AssCreed, which should generate the most sales. Even gives them a quandary of releasing both games in a bundle, because if they choose to bundle only AssCreed, SO is screwed.
I don't even dare to predict the numbers, but for SO I see it doing closer to Kinect Sports Rivals than to Dead Rising 3. (so, about 500K)
Bayonetta I have no other game to give me relevance, The only thing I can think of is that its audience is probably the core base buying Batman, AssCreed and CoD on WiiU, so somewhere about 250-300K. Actually, I'll say 350-400K, allowing a fraction of Sony/MS owners to pick up the console just for this game.
LBP3 is the only one I see going over a million. If Knack managed to sell 600K (excluding Japanese bundled sales) at the beginning of the generation, and it was not a very exciting game in the long run, I see a lot of potential for this game, as I said, if it comes bundled with the console, it will easily surpass a million.

well little big planet 1 sold ~6 million on ps3 alone. So i will go with LBP.
Can easily see LBP3 being top seller in Christmas holiday since there will be no Mario, people will buy this to their kids as well as adults. A great game that unites every gen of peoples
