If it's on home consoles it will be for PS4 and Xbox One( like FF XV,KH 3 and FF type 0) with a possible steam port in the future.

Both would be a good idea. I mean, they don't have to think "we make the game for PS4 and it won't run on Wii U". They can simply makae it with Wii U in mind and don't need it to use the full power of PS4. It's not as if fans wouldn't buy it on PS4 even if it wouldn't be the best looking game ever released on PS4...

So why'd DQ7 skip the N64? It's on the most popular console. Wii U may be ahead now, but to say it's guaranteed the spot while also selling horribly is pretty odd. If they actually about highest selling platform, then it'll be on the 3DS. If they want to put it on a console, I don't see how you can argue for Wii U whenever the JRPG fanbase will have likely moved with FF15 already out.

Why not both? If I were them, make it on wiiU and port it to PS4 uprezed and with more gloss...win win.

If this game comes out after Bloodborne, FF15 and MGS5 though, then you can pretty much guarantee it will be on PS4 (at least).

probably same reason most other devs have for not making games wiiu/PS4 id wager.

If they do both and PS4 version is so much shynierr and nicer the ninty fans would shit all over it setting up likely sales to be pathetically low.  So exactly whats the point of doing that ? aka lazy devs they suck they dont care and so on.

Still has the 3DS been ruled out as an option for the next entry in the series? Remember the Dragon Quest Series see's like 80% of its sales in Japan where handhelds are much stronger than home consoles.
