But... but can't we have both? T.T

Around the Network

Sure is a mixed bag of visuals.

+ (good)
Over-world detail/diversity.
Enemy models (nothing special, but surprisingly well made)
Render distance/scale.
Art direction (durp).
Lots of foliage (yay grass).

+- (okay)
Textures (some good some... bleh).
A lot of pop-ins (relatively forgivable given it's open world).
Inconsistent AA (hard to say how much in compressed video).
Inconsistent movement/battle animations for both enemies and players (likely since the game isn't finished though).

- (oh god why)
Character models (i feel like i'm in 2002 again).
Facial animations (an extension of the previous point).

Overall it's a good looking game (especially given the hardware), but needs some work before release.

Regardless of its visual inconsistency, it's going to be an amazing game. Will be interesting to see if it can live up to the standards of its predecessor.

I wonder if they can fix some of this stuff before release?

It'll be nice if we were to have some sort of comparison with the environments in the first few trailers and the current gameplay. People keep talking about a "downgrade", and yet I personally don't see it. Are we seeing stuff that's not there again?

I hoping they will at least fix the face of the chick who wakes you up.

It's... frightening.

Yes. Elma's complexion and face animation is literally awful. You'd think they could have touched up pretty much THE ONE FACE YOU SEE IN THE DEMO before showing it off.

Sure they can ^^ There are some things that would probably take more effort than the results would be worth (textures for example), but some of the smaller stuff like pop-ins/the AA could be improved with some fine tuning.

That list does make it seem worse than it is though. Other than the character models/facial animations (which really are dreadful) there isn't anything that will impact most people's enjoyment :) Once i get round to buying a WiiU i'll be getting it regardless ^^

Some of you guys never played the original Xenoblade... that game is the true definition of frightening faces.

Nintendo and PC gamer

it have the xenoblade feeling!

it made me cry!

Day 1!!!

I'm done, it's Xenoblade Chronicles with steroids, and that's enough for me. Can't wait.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
