Borderlands 2 bundle actually did something. Also shows how VGC is totally whack. |
The worst part is there was no real reason to be so far off on the Vita. The Borderlands bundle came out the week before the standalone game. VGC actually recorded sales for the week of the bundle. Yet despite originally showing 42k+ sales when Borderlands was only available in the bundle, they showed ~2k hardware sales.
They did actually adjust it. All the way to 5k. How that made sense to ioi or whoever is overseeing these numbers is beyond me.

Shows what poor taste gamers have these days. |
To be fair most of those PS4 sales are based on what's to come.

Yupp, 30k would be pretty decent for the Vita in June. Yeah, its a low number, but you cant get far more niche then where the Vita is at the moment.
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

No, they need better promotion and more original games. I don't want to play those games on Vita when I can play them on a console.

The bundle was also available for pre-order all month, this "2 days" argument holds no water. |
The bundle wasn't available everywhere(amazon ) people bought most of the bundles in store why do you think as we speak it is sold out in all major cities ..I live in NYC and mario wii bundles are sold out at best buy ,gamestop etc lol so pre orders being available early didn't matter much lol

VGC's methodology is just terrible. Its numbers are dependent on a miniscule sample size of the market and past trends. In contrast, NPD actually buys access to sales numbers from major retailers and thus, their figures are way more accurate. I learned years ago to never, ever trust VGC numbers.
i know some people will get mad with this but IMHO i think WiiU is in that kind of situation where people just don't want it.
It doesn't matter what nintendo does the public already have a negative perception about that product or they already have a "better" product in mind.

You're building a falacy. The pre-order availability of the WiiU/MK8 doesn't really answer anything with regards to the "two days vs. three weeks" issue here. If pre-orders (not available from all retailers) were the answer to everything, then the supply drain on the MK8 bundle in major retailers wouldn't make any sense. We know that there's a missing 4x hardware movement in the the states that's obviously not apparent in these numbers as 60k/4 != 30k.
Wait until June.
