what's the point of showing the most zoomed image you can find? |
Because he wants to paint the game in the worst possible light he can, cos he's something I'm not allowed to post on this website.

FF XII was pretty darn openwordish
Ironically I said here or someplace else that the graphics could be downgraded for the definitive version and got ridiculed by someone saying that Nintendo graphics never get downgraded. I was right though

To be honest X looks really good for a semi-realistic Wii U game. Its not fair to zoom up so close, even the werewolf in the order looked iffy. Nathan Drake on the other hand >_>
I still stand by my first assessment of the WiiU. Its an XBox 360 with more RAM thus larger scale, occasionally better textures and nothing else. Other enhancements are too subtle to be considered a generational leap, similar to the differences between 360 and PS3 ports at the start of the 7th generation. Better splashes and an extra 5fps in 7th gen ports aren't arent anything to get excited over. By default the WiiU can accomplish more on paper than the 7th gen but how much more is what dissapoints many given that the 360 is NINE years old. NINE.
As for X every game looks good zoomed out, Halo's vehicle sections prove this. RAM is a big deal when it comes to scale and thats why Unity, FFXV and Arkham Knight are skipping the WiiU. The 360 doesnt have the RAM to pull off the scale of Xenoblade but its GPU wouldnt choke in the slightest if it did.I feel digital foundrys MK8 analysis more or less confirms this, especially compared to Forza 4 (locked 720p60fps, 4X MSAA, AF) on 360.
Throw in fancy cell shading, bloom and an extra 512MB RAM (scale, draw distance) to console Skyrim and what do you get? *cough* Zelda *cough* Disagree? Look at Team fortress running on my PC below, looks better than Left 4 Dead 2 (also on my PC) even though it came out in 2007 and L4D 2 in 2009 on an "improved" source engine. The Zelda shown yesterday would not be able to run on the WiiU if it looked like the reveal demo.
Im just waiting for Project CARS which will be the final reference point as far as Im concerned, as a 30fps game I expect it to look slightly better than Forza Horizon 1 or 2.
I really wish people kept a level head when talking about graphics. I say this cause Im a basement game developer and even Ive come to appreciate using art to impress over raw polygon counts.

The Zelda tech demo looked horrible compared to the actuel Zelda. You make no sense.
i didn't expect all that talk from you guys...
it is RPG - MMO Perspective based...
so everything should be looked from far away ! , Of course it will look bad if you zoomed on characters faces, bodies and models
it has a MMO Perspective which means it is wrong to zoom things to judge how Decree or textured it is,,
that tralier is more like using MMO Gameplay to make a teasing tralier or something like that, just look how beautiful the gameplay is, just some Meditation and you will find the answer.

This trailer focused more on up close shots of characters which they havent done before. However, the textures look pretty much exactly the same. I dont think it was downgraded at all, we are just getting a more complete view of what the game looks like... |

Um yeah, it does look better. Just like Team Fortress 2 looks better then Left 4 Dead 2 even though its less demanding. That was my whole point, art can make a game look better than something with more sophisticated technology.
And the Zelda demo did not look horrible. >_>
yea they do seem a bit worse but so what. the original xenoblade had shitty graphics too but that didn't stop it from being one of my favorite games of all time now did it

Which is why I didn't mention GTA 3 and VC.
This is a map in FF12:

It's a bunch of very small areas stiched together with "doors" from each area.
It's like saying Mario 64 is an open world game because of the paintings.
