I definitely agree. In terms of games and the way Sony presented them, I was both excited and blown-away. Sure they had the lull in the middle, but I had no idea about Bloodbourne or LittleBigPlanet 3 and both look awesome! The Far Cry presentation was incredible, as is the fact that people who do not own the game can be invited to play it. Then there was the Battlefield blow-out about being able to join the beta immediately, and the Destiny alpha being available shortly.
Regarding Microsoft's conference I was extremely excited about the majority of games shown. Not because I own an Xbox One, but because I saw so many games that I will be playing on my PlayStation 4. Regarding their exclusive titles we saw games that probably won't be with us until 2016, and that is just too far away. There was just nothing exciting about Microsoft's conference beyond the third-party titles.
Edit: I actually forgot the announcement of the white PlayStation 4 which NOBODY saw coming. I don't even think we had rumours about that did we? I'm just looking forward to Gamescom now to see what Sony's European studios are working on, then TGS to see a more Japanese inspired show. Plus I feel that if The Last Guardian is going to be announced this year it will be at TGS.
