Forums - Gaming - E3 2014 Rate-A-Conference (Nintendo wins!)

Microsoft: 4
They announced four new games, showed off all the games we wanted to see, and there was almost no fluff.
Sony: 4
Some disappointments, but also some surprises like Grim Fandango and LBP3. Some fluff, but good overall.
EA: 3
Too much talk about sports and a Criterion IP that we don't know anything about despite the fact they talked about it for freakin' 10 minutes. Other than that it was good. Star Wars, Mass Effect, and the Sims pleased me.
Ubisoft: 2
Only one new game? Really? (No Ubisoft, fitness games don't count)

Just came back from work. Christ almighty was that underwhelming on all fronts. Only way I could be more disappointed is if Nintendo don't announce some new titles. If its a 30 minute direct of gameplay for games they've already announced I'm giving them a 1.

Microsoft 2

EA: 1

Ubisoft: 1.5

Sony: 2

He said no decimals. Just saying.

Sony: 4

Yeah I know, but it's offensive to lump anyone in with EA.

Do what I did and give EA a 0, that way you can drop Ubisoft to a flat 1.

superchunk will make a special exception to his scoring system for EA, otherwise I will get him banned.

Duly noted.

All in all a great day, can't wait for Nintendo's digital event!

Microsoft: 3 Good show but No surprises at all
Sony: 4 no Last Guardian stops it from being a 5
EA: 2 snore
Ubisoft: 3 Assassins Creed and Far Cry4 look great

MS - 3/5
Sony - 2/5
EA - 1/5
Ubi - 2/5

Nintendo pls

MS - 3 (They did everything I expected and while it was good, leaks ruined the surprises)

EA - 2 (Everything I expected, and while I really like sports games, I wish they showed more of Star Wars and Mirror's Edge 2)

Ubi - 3 (Pretty much everything was expected except for Rainbow 6 Siege)

Sony - 4 (Definitely had its ups and downs but I really liked their highs and LBP3 and UC4 surprised me. Plus, a lot of leaks were insinuating worse)

Nintendo - 3 (Solid presentation. I just wish there was more Smash characters revealed. Also, more Zelda)

I think Microsoft, starting from a weaker position than Sony, did a good job with a no nonsense software orientated show. I thought the middle of Sony's show was dull, the lack of any real support for Vita was disappointing, and I personally think Microsoft have the better exclusive line up for 2014. Right now though, neither Microsoft or Sony have convinced me I need an Xbox One or PS4, but the multiplatform lineup that's developing, along with Civilization: Beyond Earth, is convincing me I need a good gaming PC this year.
