Forums - Gaming - Now that you have seen the Microsoft E3 megaton conference- Does Nintendo have any chance of winning E3?

New Smash and Zelda would dominate anything that MS showed. MS is destined for last this E3.

With that amount of high quality third party games that will never be on the WiiU, Nintendo don't stand a chance imo. Between MS and Sony it is more about the console exclusives. They both get all third party games, that's why third party games "don't count". Nintendo on the other hand...

The Witcher 3 alone is raising the bar way too high.

How is this even a question?

Zelda U, Smash Bros reveals, showing off more X, actually showing something of Yarn Yoshi and SMT x FE, dropping a bombshell or two (like, I dunno....STAR FOX? New Retro game, etc), Nintendo is bound to have some surprises, and I'm STILL calling at least one surprise third party exclusive.

Yes. I think Nintendo "has a chance" to "win" E3.

As great as Zelda U will be it wont stop the impact of a torrent of 3rd party games on the other systems. Nintendo wil probably beat MS at E3 as a symbolic victory but not in other departments (sales, marketshare or support).

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I saw nothing that is going to keep people talking at the Microsoft E3 conference, so I think the door is wide open for Sony, and Nintendo to swoop in and win from a gamer point of view. A couple of suprise exclusives from each could easily swing it either way.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

What does it mean to "win" the E3? What is the goal of every company at E3?
The best conference? Reach the most people? Impress the most people? Impress the right people?
It's to impress most right people!

And the right people are for Nintendo.. people WITHOUT a Wii U or a 3DS.
Nintendo can make the best presentation. They have the strongest IP's. I have no doubt about that.
But Nintendo has clearly a disadvantage just because they won't show up on stage to build up hype for non-nintendo fans.

Just Smash Bros could be the strongest IP right now. But how many consoles will it sell at christmas? Most children will probably get the 2/3DS version. And Zelda U won't be released in 2014.

What I am trying to say..: Its possible that we think Nintendo would have won E3 because of the best presentation.
But.. it may not change that much in the long run. I don't think we would be able to beat the PS4 hardware sales this year even with a hyped-as-hell online presentation. (A presentation mainly good for Nintendo Fans.)

And this is coming from a hardcore Nintendo lover. I own a Wii U, not a PS4 or XBox One.
I am still looking forward to this presentation.

Showing a zelda and metroid game means they beat MS's E3? Are you people delusional?

I think it's pretty certain Ninty and Sony will beat Microsoft.

I watch a chunk of the xbox conference and some of the games seemed interesting and I'd probably get some enjoyment out of a lot of them. But there are different types of gamers and it only confirms to me that Microsoft are targeting an audience with very different tastes to me.

I might have been more into xbox like games 10 years ago when I was very much a PC gamer and played many online and offline fps.

Nintendo has the franchises I'm most interested in right now. I'm hyped for X and zelda, and would love to see a good starfox and any exploration based 3d Mario platformer.

To win E3 is to gain free press and advertising and build a buzz the way sony did with PS4 last year..and the way Microsoft did(lose e3) with bad press last year.  Basically E3 is a way for FREE ADVERTISING, something nintendo is clearly weak at.
