From my perspective, reboot was slap (actually more like a punch) in the face to fans of original Lara and TR.
I would have no issue if it was some new IP (though even with that, game has some serious flaws), but both gameplay and new Lara's "personality" have nothing to do with TR.
But, this has been discussed on numerous occasions, so don't blame me if I have no desire to open up that wound again.

Is that not the definition of a reboot?
Series get rebooted all the time, OG Tomb Raider has no place in the evaluation of the new one.
IMO, Original Lara didn't even have a personality, except maybe fridge psychopathy, its basically a different game entirely.

Original TR was about exploration, platforming, puzzles and shooting acrobatics. Reboot is cover-shooter (pretty decent at that though), with traces of those things. In my book that's one helluva huge downgrade and big "fuck you" to fans, reboot or no reboot.
As for personality, original Lara is trained pretty much from the childhood to be tough. New Lara is whiny "welcome to 21st century" mess. For me it's like watching Skyfall after Dr. No or Goldfinger and wondering how this can be called James Bond, all that multiplied by 100.
Maybe once they come to 4th or 5th instalment in this rebooted version, Lara and TR will start feeling like they should. Until then, I'll be (down)voting with my wallet...
