SONY originally approached Naughty Dog to develop the title. They had their hands full with their own games (The Last of Us and Uncharted) so SONY made a new studio for the title.

I still think they should have emulated Power stone over smash bros, sony's characters would fit that type of game more IMO.
On the actual news, that looks fake IMO. Someone's Uni project :)

2. the sarcasim isn't lost on me
3. an open world game like FH would really benefit from a commitment to next gen exclusivity to create larger more detailed worlds than a fighter like PSAS. still, PSAS, if real, really ought to be next gen exclusive. i want a long term committment to support the title for which the ps3 would be a dead weight. i want large interactive levels for which the ps3 would be a dead weight.
If they make the gameplay like Smash and have a roster that's associated with Playstation then the game could be amazing.
The game needs to be built around these characters.

There's a lot of reasons not to believe this rumor but the name isn't a good one. There were no health bars in the first game so the name "Battle Royale" didn't make sense either.

The original PSAR was one hell of a flawed game, but I wouldn't mind an improved sequel!
