Maybe it was made in Japan, but region locked for here? I mean why else would "made in Japan" be in English?

I had like a dozen or so games imported from china during the gb and gba days.. They made like illegal copies of the games with photoshopped boxart.. They played fine though and were like 10 bucks

What he said, plus some DS games which had DSi features like the camera, like Pokémon BW and newer. Those are region locked on DSi and 3DS consoles, but not on DS/DS Lite consoles.

Yes... I want to play Dragon Quest VII but they won't localize it... Nevertheless I wouldn't import it either since I don't know any Japanese
