Forums - Sony - killzone shadow fall visually impressive, but lacking something.

I've spent abount 380 hours on the multiplayer, which is far more than I've ever spent on any other Multiplayer. If you get into it you'll find it very rewarding, but as time goes on it's generally more and more difficult to get into it as it's a very dedicated fanbase, aside from peak times when there's generally 1000-1500 people playing, the day to day people playing it at veterans who've played since launch and have dedicated anywhere between 500-1000 hrs play time.

I've personally never understood the dislike for the Killzone series, I love the whole premise and found the execution of the concept to be perfect in Killzone 2 (for me the best FPS ever made), and I enjoyed Killzone 3 immensely, but when it comes to Shadow Fall the campaign's ending has just baffled me really and as such I can only really recommend this game on the strength of it's multiplayer which is fantastic.

Killzone shadow fall is visually impressive so far,but it's just lacking something. I'm only at the city level. I'm liking what I see so far,but it's just lacking something. I can't quite put my finger on it. the previous 2 games felt more epic then this. They even changed up the look and feel of mulitplayer in this game. I tried multiplayer for the first time yesterday, and I thought meh. I can get into a game, but not that many people are playing it. the only good thing is the bots,so I can always mess aroung regardless. killzone looks great, but it just does'nt feel epic enough. anybody else feel the same way.

Yeah.  I really liked the game, but it is obvious they need to hire professional writers (Thank god they finally have).

I think you hit the nail on the head.

Yeah, I HATED the single-player campaign and I only played a few matches in multi-player before I gave up on it (I was still mad about the single player). The big draw of the previous games was that it felt like a war was going on around you. Shadow Fall feels more like a Crysis ripoff. Fuck Shadow Fall.

P.S. The city level was the only enjoyable mission for me and it just continued to go downhill from there.

What's missing is that for a shooter there are far too many sequences where you go for ages without doing any shooting, just to show off the environment graphics.

So far I like the game.

I haven't played the singleplayer, but the multi is really fun. Give it a few more tries

Doesn't playing on PS4 invalidate your "Only on Xbox" avatar?

After beating Elite mode, I must say, while I enjoy Shadow Fall's single-player for the most part, I do agree that there's too many non-shooting sequences in the campaign that are only there to show off "dem gwafix!" Also, the campaign does get very linear later in the game and the shooting can get monotonous. By the way, I can't tell which campaign is better, Killzone 1 or Killzone: Shadow Fall as Killzone 1 tends to suffer from its underwhelming gameplay and cheap deaths while Shadow Fall suffers from being a launch title that is well, graphics. The multiplayer is very good though, and I'm playing the heck out of it like any Killzone game (Except Killzone 1 as I was never interested in Killzone back then), and I'm coming close to the platinum with over 200 hours in record. Overall, Killzone: Shadow Fall's campaign, compared to 2 and 3, is quite lacking despite its next-gen (If you can call it that)  paint. But with multiplayer that is just as good 2 and 3, Shadow Fall is worth your money if that's what you're interested in, and don't worry, there's Botzone if you want to play the multiplayer without the need for internet or when the servers shut down ;)

Currently playing it and its boring so far. I tried the MP but it just feels like the previous ones. A spawn fest. They need to do random spawning like most MP games out there.

I enjoyed the single player, completed the campaign twice. Some of the fights were quite a challenge. Wolfenstein new order is more fun though.
