it means the ps users get the beta for 4 days before the xbox players can get in

I don't know. It could be one of these three I think:

1) Beta runs for 4 days. Could be anytime and other platforms might get it later or not.

2) Beta starts 4 days before other platforms get it.

3) Beta starts 4 days before release. The most unlikely option.

We already know that Xbox is getting beta access at some point, because it's listed as a preorder bonus. So option #1 is out. That leaves 2 and 3. And since Bungie said the Destiny beta would be coming over the summer, and the game releases in early September which is only technically summer by just a few days, I'm guessing that it's option #2.

No, #1 is not out. I said other platforms might get it later or not. Just ignore the "or not" part then.

Good call from Bungie, no need to punish their xbox fans with a week maybe even an extra month long wait just so PS gamers can get the game early. 4 days is long enough.

Imagine being hyped for this game but you have to wait an extra 2 weeks or longer to play the beta while PlayStation fans brag about it on the net, posting vids and pics, that shit would suck, and could backfire on Bungie and their relationship with decade old fans.
This is good news for the whole bungie community, people on both sides are hyped for this game, no one has to wait too long to sink their teeth in it.

The publisher being Activision my guess is it's more their choice  and Sony's than Bungie's as the negociaton of exclusive features is done between them.

And Activision granted Xbox 1 month exclusivity for Call of Duty early beat access.

It would have to be an extension, unless the XB1 version doesn't have an early acess.

Can always cancel the pre-order and pick it up later for cheap.

Beta these days sometimes just means a demo.

Edit: Good points by posters below. Hmm.

Love your sig btw

Yeah, and that sucked for everybody that was not on Xbox, and thats my point. We dont need to put gamers through that.

just saying that it is unusual to claim giving "early access to the beta" as an exclusive feat to motivate pre-orders and then having that early access being of only 4 days

sounds disproportinately low comparing to the initial promise/expectation

At the end of the day we are getting it resonable early, so they delivered on the "early/1st" promise. 4 days is plenty for a game this hyped.
