Its not about winning this generation, its about being profitable for nintendo. More is always better, but you dont need to sell as much as the PS4 to be considered a success. The Wii U has still a long way ahead, but MK8 is definitely a good start for the console.

Mario Kart 8 plus a free game doubled the WiiU's baseline from 30k to 60k... Let's see if the Wii U can hold that baseline when the promotion runs out next month.

MK8 will stay up there for a good while and just slowly carry on making sales. I think MK8 is going to get more than 3 million by the end of the year because they have done it right and might market the game during Holidays with Smash Bros.

They will make them a lot of money though... I wouldnt be surprised if the amiibos are enough to put them into the positive again.

itll easily get pass 4 million this year its already pass the halfway point
