tk1989 said: meh. I bet Halo 3 will sell well, and for the wrong reasons, just like Halo2. Halo2 was terrible, it didnt even have a proper ending, and the arbiter quests were boring as hell. The multiplayer maps werent as fun as well... The only good thing about it was Online multiplayer, but that still doesnt justify how it got so many good reviews, even though its basically universally known as being a modiocre game. |
Thanks for giving us all your opinion and stating it as fact. I thought the ending to Halo 2 was brilliant. It shows a move to more epic and cinematic gameplay storytelling. Expect more games like Mass Effect to follow the same Shakespearean 3-act storytelling arc in the future.
Obviously I'm not the only one who feels this way. If a game dev has a long story to tell, I don't mind receiving a cliffhanger at the end of act 2, no more than I minded it when Lucas used that methodology in Empire Strikes Back.
