The question is how many. I haven't bought one yet even though I want Smash. If there was some sweet extra 3rd party back-up I would've bought a Wii U already, but we all know that there's just not a lot of 3rd party support.

Unfortunately, that ship already sailed. Constant droughts and unimpressive first party big games made consumers look at other devices which ended in terrible sales, thus third parties left.

At least now could have a good first party support.

Im kinda sueprised actualy, I never doubted Mario for a second but Super Mario 3D World didnt have as much impact as MK8, kinda wierd that ppl decided to get theyre WiiUs now instead of when 3D World came out (I got mine when 3D World came out hehe).

Is Banjo even possible on Wii U? Microsoft owns the rights to it I thought?

Smash Bros will be the next to push comparable numbers to MK8, Zelda I expect to push 80-100k consoles. Metroid Prime 4, as much as I want it, I feel like it won't push more than 60k in the first week, if even that.

Nintendo needs two big games before Smash if the want to continue the momentum. If they can push out something big in the summer and something big in the fall, and have that lead into Smash in the winter, they could very realistically pull a 3DS. Now is the time to capitalize, and with E3 next week, I have a hard time believing the timing has been coincidental.

I don't think there is a problem with the wii u design. I have a PS4 and have had every playstation console ever. I bought the MK8 bundle and must say I am impressed. The wii pad is awesome and a better designed than remote play. I like that it has all the shoulder buttons and isn't as awkward to hold as the vita. I like the tv control and the fact that it recognizes my family owned cable company. OK the graphics are not as good as the PS4 but It is newer than wii u.Maybe this was the right time for my first nintendo product but I am very pleased and don't feel I wasted $300 on it

How is it that MK8 is not a Wii sequel with higher resolution? Was it the gliding from MK7 or the limited anti-gravity feature that marked the difference between generations?

I'm not surprised at all. 3D World wasn't the game most non-Wii U owners were looking for. The wanted the successor to true "open world" 3D Mario games like Galaxy, Sunshine, and 64. 3D World is, quite frankly, a 3D NSMB.

They didn't get what they wanted, so they didn't buy the console. I'm surprised anyone genuinely thought that SM3DW would move signifigant consoles to be honest.

The difference is big. MK8 looks like an improvement over MKWii. Even if I don't like that much.

I might be speaking for myself here cause Ive never been a Big Mario Kart fan but it never struck me as a game ppl would buy a console for, its good fun but you play it awhile tham its starts to get repetitive and if youre not with friends fun factor drops a lot. But I guess Im wrong and ppl do buy consoles for Mario Kart.

Lol, Mario Kart as a franchise is huge. It's Nintendo's biggest core franchise, dwarfed only by Pokemon in system selling power.
