Mobile has already taken over for the casual gamer in most of the world. That is why the Wii sales stopped and the WiiU/Kinect did not catch on like expected.

Mobile wise no. There are plenty of things weird over there and having something like a moan thrower would be better on a phone then a computer. Since the politicians over here banned bumping into people on the train I doubt they'll let weird things take off like they did in Japan.

They have no taking over or set any trend. Just look at the PS2 japanese library, then look at he PS3; its anemic comparison. And that there is the problem. No games. The other problem is the way the japanese think. THey way they "do business" so to speak. A western developer or publisher will just make a game on hype alone and roll the dice. They in their heads believe that their game will make people go out and buy a console and they would/could spend as much as or more, on the games marketing than they did on actually making the game. The japanese devs, naaaaaa.... they want he install base to already be there before they make games for the platform. They will go to where ever there is an install base.
