Here I am, the only one who thinks the PS4 and XB1 will end at about the same, just like last-gen

PS4 wont dominate as much as the PS2 did unless the X1 fades away which I can't see happening. MS has so much money they'll just keep pumping more and more money into the box until it's a success.

I highly doubt that.

Considering the possibility that the xbox brand will return to irrelevancy, there would be no point in pumping more and more money into the Xbox division. Companies invest to make a profit, not to make fanboys happy.

Microsoft will put up more of a fight at no.2, but more or less, it's a pretty similar gen for Sony I think.

PS4: 95-100 million
XB1: 40-45 million
Wii U: 18-20 million

I kinda what I see happening.

PS4: 100-110m
XB1: 50-60m
Wii U: 20-30m

I don't think the xb1 is going to reach 360 ltd with the ps4 outselling it in America. Wii U will at least be comparable with the GCN's numbers. And the ps4 will do amazing numbers in the US and Europe.

Hmm. PS4 doesn't have a shot at all at 150 million without Japan. PS2 sold 23 million there while PS4 can probably hope for 9, just shy of PS3. Plus PS2 held the world outside of the major markets exclusively, selling 25 million in them, which it can no longer hope to do while facing competition (which it still is).

I think it can just crack 100 if the market is still favorable in the coming years, just like PS1's 102.5 million. If Xbox puts up a valid fight I think we'll see a 90-70 split at time of death. And of course WiiU maxes any possibility at 25-30 (come on, I wish).

Thats a poor argurment derived from a flawed statitistic.  How many of thos current 360 owners would be interested at $299?  How about $199?  How many may be swayed by a future game annoucement or new feature?  This gen is VERY early still, plenty of time for them to increase momentum.

While i agree about that his argument and its basis is flawed too and partially agree that there is still plenty of time this gen for MS to build momentum. I hav a few issues with what you said.

One, these lower prices that you talk about, to me it sounds like all that MS development APIs will increase stuff that some people like throwing around. Problem with this way of thinking is that it completely negates the fact that nothing stops sony from dropping their prices too.

And two, all these future game announcements and new features..... again, sony could do the exact same thing too. Hell, sony has shown morpheus so far. Just saying, I think its weird using points to exonorate one party that could just as easily apply to the other guy.

Yep, similar but with MS higher and N lower.

I think in terms of market shares it'll be most similar to the fifth generation, though in total global sales it'll probably be close to the sixth. I'm thinking 120-130M for the PS4, 50-60M for the XBO, and 20M for the Wii U.

But MS hand 0 market share in fifth gen ;-D

My 8th gen collection

repeat generations all they want, just gimme some good games on all systems lol
