Forums - Sony - Can PSP games on PSN be PLAYED on PS3?

yeah that's really annoying. I never understand why these companies don't put out the games for their users to purchase.

It's like that:

- PSP games: playable on PSP and PSV.
- PS2 classics: playable on PS3, PS4
- PS1 classics: playable on all of them.

Don't know why you though PSP games would necessarily be playable on PS3. Only PSV is backwards compatible. Of course, if they made an emulation layer to play PSP on PS3 that would be great. But you are talking about Sine Mora PSV version. Since Vita isn't that weaker than PS3, emulation would be pretty much impossible. Best deal is to get cross-buy games.

Yea its not even that serious, mighty pissed off for something so trivial.

You would think that Sony would have all their in house ps1 classics on PSN at this point. The PS4 has released before Sony was able to release their ps1 classics on PSN.

Sadly, the Japanese PS Store has just about every PS1 game on it. Even the Bushido Blade games!

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Can PSP games be played on Vitas?

If the PSP game is available on the PS Store, then yeah the Vita can play it.

This isn't true.  Some PSP games can be purchased on the PS Store through PS3 or PC but can't be transferred over to the Vita.  Here's a complete list of all PSN games playable on the PSP and whether they can be played on the Vita or not.  It's color coded as to which ones aren't playable at all, playable only by purchasing it through the PS3 then transfering it to the Vita, or purchasable by the Vita.

Oh really? My fault for making an assumption then. Before i bought a Vita i googled a load of my favorite PSP games to see if they were compatible and all were, so i made what was evidently an over eager assumption that all were

Thanks for the list though o/

And keep in mind, it's only due to contract reasons that the Vita can't play the entire library.  The glitch in the PS store from last month proved it.  I have 3 crash game and 3 spyro PS1 games on my vita right now.

Also, I just bought rayman for PS1 today in the store.  It is on sale until the store is updated.  $1.50, so I decided to give it a go. Worth more than what I paid.

And now, I'm headed back to the store to see what nice updates are waiting for me.  Thanks.

Call Sony and tell them you got an error while trying to buy it for 1.50.  You may get lucky.

Wow you sound like a butthurt kid, just go buy them on ebay, they aren't expensive games.

Also no, PSP games can not be played on PS3.

This shit is making me mad!

I downloaded a PSV game(Sine Mora) from PSN and was not able to play it on my PS3 so is this the same with PSP games?

When the PSP came out, Sony remade a couple ps1 classic hits for the PSP like Parappa The Rapper, Ape Escape and Medievil.

Now on PSN, Sony has the original Medievil AND Medievil Resurrection BUT when i look up Ape Escape and Parappa The Rapper, they only have the PSP remakes on PSN. I played Ape Escape and Ape Escape: On The Loose and i Would rather buy the original Ape Escape over the PSP version again but i can't because Sony hasn't released it on PSN

I'm currently looking into purchasing Parappa The Rapper from the PSN store because i heard that the PSP version is exactly the same as the original with an added multiplayer mode but i'm not sure if i can actually play it on the PS3 if i purchase it

So does anybody know if i can actually play the PSP Parappa The Rapper on PS3?

Sony makes me fucking sick sometimes

Why the hell havn't you released the ORIGINAL Ape Escape and Parappa The Rapper games on PSN yet? It makes no sense to me

So does anybody know?

I hope you have CFW on your ps3, this console has a psp minis emulator and a psp remaster emulator (hd rendering) built into he original sony firmware. Scene devs have released tools to convert games to the proper format and create a pgk installation file for ps3, many games does work, some not at all. I play monster hunter freedom unite with right stick mapped to control camera, gorgeous graphics.

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!
