Forums - Sony - Can PSP games on PSN be PLAYED on PS3?

This shit is making me mad!

I downloaded a PSV game(Sine Mora) from PSN and was not able to play it on my PS3 so is this the same with PSP games?

When the PSP came out, Sony remade a couple ps1 classic hits for the PSP like Parappa The Rapper, Ape Escape and Medievil.

Now on PSN, Sony has the original Medievil AND Medievil Resurrection BUT when i look up Ape Escape and Parappa The Rapper, they only have the PSP remakes on PSN. I played Ape Escape and Ape Escape: On The Loose and i Would rather buy the original Ape Escape over the PSP version again but i can't because Sony hasn't released it on PSN

I'm currently looking into purchasing Parappa The Rapper from the PSN store because i heard that the PSP version is exactly the same as the original with an added multiplayer mode but i'm not sure if i can actually play it on the PS3 if i purchase it

So does anybody know if i can actually play the PSP Parappa The Rapper on PS3?

Sony makes me fucking sick sometimes

Why the hell havn't you released the ORIGINAL Ape Escape and Parappa The Rapper games on PSN yet? It makes no sense to me

So does anybody know?

no, you can't. PS3 is only to be used as a "docking station" for psp and vita games. vita games would be impossible on PS3 anyway.  If you bought those games and don't own a vita, you've wasted your money.  Call Sony's support team and ask for a refund, or don't worry about it.

And, if you do happen to get a Vita, keep in mind that some of the older-released PSP titles don't have the Vita under it's license.  What that means is you cannot play said game on your vita.  But, there was a glitch in the Store last week, and we were able to download all our titles that weren't supposed to be useable on vita.  Of course, they all worked fine.

Can PSP games be played on Vitas?

If the PSP game is available on the PS Store, then yeah the Vita can play it.

See my above edit.  Yes, they all can be played.  If it works on PSP, it works on vita.  Are you allowed to play it based on license?  Depends on the game.  So, the answer you're looking for is "probably."

those PSP games that are vita compatible usually have a PSV icon aswell and in the description both handhelds are mentioned

obviously only digital titles can be vita compatible, as the Vita has no umd drive

What a fucking fail..

FAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL!

They're going to have to take an "L" for this one.

How many years has PSN been around? Like 7 years? And these motherfuckers STILL have not released the original Ape Escape and Parappa The Rapper on PSN. These are YOUR fucking games! These games sold over 3 million a piece so what logic was used to decide to not release them on PSN?

I bet if these were Nintendo games, they would've BEEN released years ago.

I can't even play Parappa The Rapper or Ape Escape because they STILL aren't released on the PS FUCKING store.

I guess Sony WANTS people to download them illegally. I wish i could have a "little chat" with the person who handles the PSN store games

..hold this fat ass capital "L"

The PSP 3000 and PSP GO(I think) have TV out ports which is awesome. Not sure that helps in your situation though.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

or, you could just go to ebay.

Yea its not even that serious, mighty pissed off for something so trivial.
