I guess by default, kinda yes. It's the best LOOKING Wii U game so far, even though we've had some really pretty ones. It's the first true "must have" system selling kind of game. This game is gonna have legs. I would even be so bold as to guess that, just based on it's graphics and the level of innovation in the track designs, etc. alone, that MK8 has a chance to outsell MK7. MK7 was a decent game. But there was nothing majorly special about it. This game, shitty battle mode aside, is pretty special. And it's gonna have some real legs.

Having said that, I don't think it'll remain the "best" for long. I think once Zelda comes along, plus whatever other surprises await us, it'll be dethroned. But it WILL, I think, be the highest selling Wii U game in the end.

Loving MK8, but so far DKC:TF is the best game, that is platform perfection, I'll say it again best platformer in a long time.

Super Mario 3D World is better, Kart 8 should lose a point for the ruined Battle Mode.
If you never cared about the Battle Mode, then it may be better for you than 3D World, but if you consider the minority of people who cared about it, then I think 3D World should be rated higher.

It is hard to decide which one is the best out of Tropical Freeze and 3D World.

My small problems with tropical freeze are 2:
-Dixie's abilities, both on land and under water, are better versions of Diddy's abilities, Dixie basically leaves you with no reason to choose the Diddy barrell. They should make their abilities more different in the next game.
-If you beat the game 100% you unlock the hard mode and you can play in single player as all characters, that should at least also be possible in normal mode, perhaps even from the get go.

My small problem with 3D World is:
-The worlds are incoherent, they don't share a same theme (desert world, cloud world, water world for example), levels seem to be randomly distributed among the worlds, that makes it hard to remember in which world a certain level was.

But those complaints are nitpicks in comparison to the Battle mode flaw in Kart 8.

Nope. It's the second best game available for the Wii U. The Wonderful 101 is the best game available so far, it's number two in my best five games of all time list and it's going to take something VERY special to beat it as my personal best game of the generation.

Mario Kart 8 is amazing though!

Yes, for now. I've already put over 10 hours into it in the less than 2 days I've had it. It's absolutely gorgeous and a blast to play. Online is pretty well done and I've had zero issues with lag, and I've been able to play with my friends locally on online and it's been fantastic! The only thing I'd like to see is DLC for some REAL battle arenas, and I would be ALL OVER DLC for new courses/cups.
